The founder of the company and Chairman of the Board, Pharmacist Levent CANYURT, has been active in the Turkish pharmaceutical sector for many years. After graduating from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Gazi University in 1980, Levent Canyurt practiced pharmacy for a period before founding BİEM Pharmaceuticals in 1991, whereupon he became the local distributor of globally renowned companies in the field of blood products.

In line with the vision put forward by Levent CANYURT, BİEM Pharmaceuticals has not only supplied imported products but has also begun domestic production of medicines needed nationwide. In particular, the company started the licensing and production of generic medicines in the fields of oncology and radiocontrast imaging in the 2010s. Over the past 10 years, BİEM Pharmaceuticals has expanded its manufactured product portfolio, increased its domestic and international market share and turnover every year, established one of Turkey’s R&D laboratories specifically focused on oncology research, and significantly increased its R&D investments.
